All Purely Charming slide-on letters, charms and clip-on pendants/charms are individually handcrafted and plated with rhodium to protect against tarnishing and give a bright shine. The universal, almost-all-purpose lobster claw clasp is for easy attachment to the "D" ring or an existing tag ring (license tag, etc.) of a collar or harness. Our charms have always been secured by a Split Ring (not a Jump Ring) to the clasp for durability as it is the most secure method of attaching charms. A Split Ring looks like a tiny key chain ring and will not come open. Jump Rings do come open and result in loss.
